Valuations are conducted to gather enough information to justify or determine the \u201cFair Market Value\u201d of the vessel.<br \/>\nThis can be for the purposes of Insurance, Marine Mortgages, Bank Loans, Probate, Repossession, Pre-purchase investigation, or ascertaining a private sale price.<br \/>\nYacht valuations, in most instances, can be carried out with the vessel afloat, on the assumption that the hull, keel(s), stern gear and rudder(s) are of a sound condition. This is acceptable for most circumstances.
